The MIRAGE is a beautiful son of the SHADOW who is a son of Flor Vervoort's PHANTOM owned by Mike Ganus.  The MIRAGE's mother, DIAMOND DOLL, is an unraced hen that broke her leg while training for the 2007 young bird race series and was stocked for breeding.  DIAMOND DOLL is a full sister to DIAMOND JACK  (AU Elite Champion #113) and DIAMOND JACKIE (mother and grandmother to AU Champion and many other super racers).  These three supers were bred from DIAMOND RIO, a super Antoine Jacops breeder,  crossed on FLICKER, a daughter of the PHANTOM.  Consequently, MIRAGE is a double-bred PHANTOM and Vandenabeele crossed on the best pigeons of Antoine Jacops.  Due to his moult, MIRAGE was unraced as a young bird.
